Fire & Emergency Services
The primary mission of the District of Stewart Fire & Emergency Services Department is to protect the lives and property of the citizens of Stewart from the adverse effects of fires, sudden medical emergencies or exposures to dangerous conditions created by man or nature. This is accomplished through fire prevention, education and training programs.
A volunteer member contingent serves the District population of approximately 500. With various light commercial, light industry, heavy industry and residential properties situated in both centralized and remote areas of the community, Fire & Emergency Services work to ensure the safety of all who work and live in the town of Stewart.
Regardless of the size or complexity of the incident, the District of Stewart firefighters are trained and equipped to serve the community.

911 is to be used only for emergencies (police, fire or medical) where an immediate response is required. Call 911 if there is an emergency where lives are in danger and immediate action is required or if there is a crime in progress.
