CALL FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS: PICTURE BC

PICTURE BC

CALL FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS - The District of Stewart is looking for photographers to participate in a "Picture BC" project created by the Knowledge Network and UBCM. It is an opportunity for our community to be part of province-wide website show casting the beauty and diversity of British Columbia to BC residents and the rest of the world.

The District of Stewart has the opportunity to select
ONE PHOTOGRAPHER to represent us on the “Picture BC” website, a partnership project of Knowledge Network and the Union of British Columbia Municipalities, with involvement from the Ministry of Tourism, Sport and Arts.  The selected photographer will enter into a contract with Knowledge Network, and work in consultation with the District of Stewart to produce 6 photographs between March and October of this year that are representative of Stewart.  The photographer will receive a fee of $500 per each of the six photos accepted for inclusion, and will have a bio on the Picture BC website.

The deadlines for this project are very tight.  Interested photographers are asked to forward a digital portfolio or web link showcasing their work to Galina Durant a liaison between Knowledge Network/UBCM and the District of Stewart, via  rdurant@telus.net by February 22, 2008.  As the photographs for Picture BC will be produced over the contract period, it is not necessary for your portfolio shots to showcase Stewart, but should represent your best work as a photographer.  The applications will be reviewed and one photographer will be selected by February 29th, 2008.

Additional information will also be posted soon on www.civicnet.bc.ca, under Programs & Services, Local Government Program Services.
